Press Release Summary: 10 years of research shows this treatment model to be effective in addressing behavior challenges of all sorts in children, including those with Autism.
Press Release Body: I\'m a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist with 30 years of experience helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Since 1981, I\'ve been supervising staff who deliver in-home and in-school services (sometimes called \"wraparound\" services) to children with developmental delays (including more than 30 on the Autism spectrum this year).
In the past five years, my staff have documented successful treatment in 74% to 82% of cases (more than 50 were children with Autism spectrum disorders) and I would like this information to be more widely available to parents of children with ASD, especially in Pennsylvania where the treatment is ABSOLUTELY FREE, regardless of family income.
This treatment is available to children in all 50 states under the Medicaid EPSDT program. No other state has implemented this program as conscientiously as Pennsylvania has, but I believe the success we\'ve had with it in Pennsylvania can be exported to every other state.
I think that parents should be informed about this extremely effective treatment model, and how to access it for their children, especially if they live in the Southeastern Region of Pennsylvania (near Philadelphia) where I and my staff have been working. I can teach psychologists in other states how to do what we do, and it\'s free for children who have Medicaid benefits in Pennsylvania (at least 35 other states have similar rules). Parents are not being told these things, unfortunately. It\'s rather like \"discrimination against federal funding\" may be afoot here; this treatment approach works, but there seems to be a conspiracy of silence about it.
Families elsewhere in America are experiencing dire financial stress to obtain professional treatment services like these for their children. I can probably help. I\'d like to get this information into the hands of parents of children with ASD and legislators (especially those interested in Medicaid reform). More information about our model of treatment is available at www.ibc-pa.org.
The information there has been reviewed by all sorts of experts and government officials and has been widely praised for its thoroughness and accuracy, and it\'s free, too.
Best wishes always.
